Hello from Islamorada and the Florida Keys! This is your fishing report for Oct-November.

The temperature is cooling off as we are getting into fall and winter patterns, but the fishing has been red hot. Everglades National Park continues to be our choice of fishing locations this time of year. The afternoon rainstorm brings rich fresh water down through the estuaries and the bait follows along. That Altus to look for birds and other wildlife as we search for a fishing hole. When we find the bait being worked the fish get right in on the action! Snook, juvenile tarpon, redfish, seatrout, and jacks are all the targeted game fish we target when searching the flats this time of year.

Our bait choice is usually soft plastics or even top water plugs. This allows our clients to cover as much ground as possible quickly while mimicking the bait the fish are looking for. It’s very active fishing with an explosive bite! Great for the seasoned vet or the novice angler.

Fly fishing is also in the cards, using a lighter rod this time of year we pole the flats in search of laid up tarpon and snook waiting to devour a well-placed fly.

Well, that’s what is going on in our little part of the world. Want to give it a try? Contact us at 305-393-0363 or email and we will set you up! Until next time keep it in the shallow grass!
